1) Ankle Sprain

  • Cause: Ankle sprains occur when the ligaments that support the ankle are stretched or torn, often due to a sudden twist, turn, or roll of the ankle.

  • Symptoms: Pain, swelling, bruising, and difficulty walking. The severity depends on whether it's a mild sprain (stretched ligaments), moderate sprain (partial tear), or severe sprain (full tear).

2) Achilles Tendonitis

  • Cause: Inflammation or irritation of the Achilles tendon, often caused by overuse, sudden increases in activity, or poor footwear.

  • Symptoms: Pain and stiffness along the back of the ankle, particularly in the morning or after exercise. It may also cause swelling and limited movement.

3) Achilles Tendon Rupture

  • Cause: A complete tear of the Achilles tendon, usually due to a sudden, forceful movement like pushing off during running or jumping.

  • Symptoms: Sudden, severe pain in the back of the ankle, a popping sound, and difficulty walking or standing on tiptoes.

4) Ankle Arthritis

  • Cause: Degeneration of the cartilage in the ankle joint, often due to wear and tear, previous injury, or inflammatory arthritis (such as rheumatoid arthritis).

  • Symptoms: Pain, stiffness, swelling, and decreased range of motion in the ankle. Pain worsens with weight-bearing activities.

5) Plantar Fasciitis

  • Cause: Inflammation of the plantar fascia, a thick band of tissue that runs along the bottom of the foot from the heel to the toes. This is commonly caused by overuse, poor footwear, or excessive standing.

  • Symptoms: Heel pain, particularly in the morning or after long periods of rest. The pain is usually sharp and localized to the bottom of the heel.

6) Morton's Neuroma

  • Cause: A thickening of the tissue around the nerve between the toes, usually between the third and fourth toes, often caused by pressure or irritation from tight shoes or abnormal foot mechanics.

  • Symptoms: Sharp, burning pain in the ball of the foot, often accompanied by numbness or tingling in the toes.
